Dispute Resolution – Arbitration, Mediation

Going to court is one way to solve disputes but many people are finding that hiring a lawyer experienced in dispute resolution saves time and money. There are two main types of dispute resolution – arbitration and mediation.

Arbitration allows parties in a litigated case to try the case before an arbitrator rather than a judge. This process is far less expensive and less burdensome than trial.

Mediation is a process where individuals who wish to resolve their disputes meet together with a mediator, often before litigation is filed. Many clients have found that cases can be resolved more quickly and at far less cost through mediation than litigation. The positive side of mediation is that the vast majority of clients who have mediated their case report much higher levels of satisfaction with the mediation process than with litigation.
